COSIMA is a joint initiative of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the VDE Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies.
The motivation of the BMBF
Strengthening Germany's innovative power, creating sustainable jobs and improving the quality of education - these are the goals of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. The BMBF wants to open up new markets with innovative technologies and do research for the benefit of people. Micro- and nanoelectronics are particularly important for the competitiveness of the German economy. Young people in Germany are the most important resource for the future. It is important to promote all talents and realise equal opportunities. Germany should continue to be one of the leading education and research nations.
The motivation of the VDE
The VDE is committed to the practice-orientated promotion of young talents. The aim of the VDE - with 36,000 members, including 1,300 companies, one of the largest technical and scientific associations in Europe - is to shape a future worth living. Therefore, the VDE wants to get young people interested in future technologies. The VDE has many initiatives to inspire enthusiasm for technology and is committed to modern engineering training.
